Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Velora Scents (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit velorascents.us or buy from us, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If you have a question, email us at velorascents.usa@gmail.com.

Information we collect

When you place an order: your name, email address, shipping address, phone number (if you give one) and what you bought. Payment is handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and is never seen or stored by us. We only receive limited details, such as the card brand and last four digits.

When you contact us: your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.

Automatically, when you browse: like nearly every website, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request. This is used to keep the site running and secure.

We do not collect sensitive information such as government ID numbers, health information or precise location.

How we use your information

• To process, pack, ship and track your order, and to handle returns and refunds.
• To send you order confirmations, shipping updates and replies to your questions.
• To prevent fraud and keep the site and payments secure.
• To keep the business records we are required to keep for tax and accounting.

We do not send marketing emails unless you have asked to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers we need to run the shop, and only what they need to do their job:

• Stripe, to process payments and prevent fraud (Stripe’s privacy policy).
• Vercel, which hosts this website.
• The United States Postal Service and our shipping-label provider, to deliver your order.
• Google, whose Gmail service we use for customer email.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics. Your shopping bag is saved in your own browser’s local storage so it is still there when you return; it never leaves your device until you check out. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout page to process the payment and prevent fraud.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control: because we do not track you across websites or sell your information, there is nothing for these signals to switch off. We honor them all the same.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed to fulfil the order and handle any return, and after that for as long as the law requires us to keep business and tax records (generally up to seven years). Messages you send us are kept for as long as needed to help you. Then the information is deleted.

How we protect it

The site is served only over encrypted HTTPS, payments are processed by Stripe (which is certified to PCI DSS Level 1), and access to order information is limited and password protected. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if a breach affects you, as required by law.

Your rights and choices

Wherever you live in the US, you can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
• correct information that is wrong;
• delete your information, except where we must keep it (for example, tax records of a purchase);
• stop using your information for any marketing.

Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon and other states with consumer privacy laws may have these rights under those laws. Email velorascents.usa@gmail.com from the address you used to order, and we will respond within 45 days. We may need to confirm your identity first. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. You must be 18 or older to buy from us. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we will tell customers by email before it takes effect.
